3 Day Tour from Fez to Marrakech via Merzouga

1st day: Fez - Middle Atlas - Merzouga Desert - Camel ride and night in the Berber tent

We will pick you up at 8.00 am from your hotel/riad and leave Fez towards Ifran, a beautiful mountain village known as "the Switzerland of Morocco" and then to Midelt. During this trip, you will be able to glimpse the mountains of the Middle Atlas and the High Atlas. Stop in Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you may see Barbary monkeys. After a while in the forest, your journey continues towards Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas, after the city of Midelt, you will travel through the fascinating pass of Tiz Ntalghamt and the Ziz Gorge, enjoying the views of the High Atlas plateau. You will notice how the landscape changes to reveal touches of desert as you approach the city of Errachidia, here you will have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality. You will then travel along the lush Ziz valley, stopping to enjoy panoramic views on the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon. You will be greeted with a glass of mint tea before riding on a camel, guided by an experienced camel driver to explore the golden sand sea of Merzouga. Dinner in front of the tent where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dadès Valley

Early morning is essential to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise you have ever seen on a high dune near the camp and enjoy this landscape that is a gift of nature. Then we return to Merzouga on the camels where a heartwarming breakfast awaits us. We leave the desert after breakfast to Rissani where we will visit the market square (market days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), then we continue to Erfoud where we can visit the fossilized marble manufactures before starting our way towards Touroug and the palm of Tinjdad. groves An hour later we will arrive at one of the best places in the High Atlas, the Todra Gorges. The course of the river has carved a canyon with cliffs and it is for its beauty and high rock walls that is very popular among climbers. Free time for lunch in this wonderful place. A short walk through the gorges is highly recommended to better appreciate the beauty of the landscape. In the afternoon we continue to the valley of Dadès, also known as the valley of the figs passing by Boumalne Dadés, we will stop at the "feat of the monkey". Dinner and night in the gorges of Dadès.

3rd Day: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dades valley from a strategic viewpoint in the mountains, from there we can appreciate the great number of kasbahs and the landscape features of each. Then we continue on a road dotted with different kasbahs of tourist interest. After a few stops to enjoy the «Road of the thousand kasbahs». the Valley of the Roses and the great palm grove of Skoura we will arrive in Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, former residence of the Glaoui or pasha of Marrakech. Half an hour from Ouarzazate, we will stop at the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). In the afternoon we start our way to Marrakech passing by the mountain pass of Tizi Ntichka with some stops for taking photos.
