3 Day Desert Tour from Fez to Merzouga

1st day: Fez - Ifrane - Midelt - Gorges of the Ziz - Erfoud - Rissani - Merzouga

After an early breakfast, you will begin your ascent through the mountains of the Middle Atlas. You will spend most of the day touring beautiful forests, rugged rocks and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas mountains and start descending into the Sahara desert. Halfway through, you’ll stop for lunch in the village of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. Upon arrival at the Kasbah in Merzouga, a hot shower or a dip in the pool (depending on the weather) will be a pleasure after your trip. Dinner will be served at the Kasbah.

2nd day: Merzouga - Desert adventure and camel trek

Here in the Sahara desert of Erg Chebbi, we start at 11:00 or earlier and take a walk through the sand dunes. As we drive through these fabulous landscapes, we will see many black nomadic shops in the middle of nowhere. We will stop by a nomadic family for tea and see what a nomadic life is like. We continue our journey and discover the nomadic life of the Berbers visiting khamliya, a village where nothing has changed over the centuries. We either have lunch here in the village of Khamliya or we go back to our hotel and have lunch there. After a siesta, we will take a camel ride to meet one of the most fascinating views we have ever seen, the magnificent sunset in the middle of the high sand dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). Tonight we stay at the Berber camp and enjoy a wonderful view of the stars.

3rd Day: Merzouga - Midelt - Ifrane - Fez

After a refreshing breakfast we will go out to FezWe will travel through the Ziz valley and the Middle Atlas mountains as we leave the desert region towards Fez. We drive through the cedar forests of Azrou and stop to feed the monkeys. We will continue through Ifrane, the 'Switzerland of Morocco' to arrive early in the evening to Fez.
